How to Fix Missing Points in Eat Well Challenge

This article is specific to the Eat Well Challenge and explains what to do if you have not been awarded the proper points based on your logging and activity in the Eat Well Challenge.

Enable Lose It! to Read/Write Foods to Health (iOS Devices)

You must track your meals in Lose It!. For Lose It! to send data to Challenges, you have to enable the app to Read/Write Food & Nutrients to Health within the Lose It! app and within Apple Health directly.

Enable this setting by:

  1. Open Lose It! and tap:
  2. Profile button (top-right)
  3. Under Automatic tracking, select ‘Apple Health’
  4. Toggle on “Read/Write Food & Nutrients
  5. Apple Health may prompt you here; if so, you must allow Lose It! to read/write the following data types: Dietary Energy, Dietary Sugar, and Total Fat (you can share more if you’d like!)

You should then follow these steps:

  1. Open the Health app
  2. Tap your profile picture in the upper-right corner
  3. Under Privacy, tap Apps.
  4. Tap Lose It!
  5. Turn ON all toggles under 'Allow Lose It! to read data' and 'Allow Lose It! to write data'
    • If you do not wish to share all data, Lose It! must at least be able to read/write these 3 categories: Dietary Energy, Dietary Sugar, and Total Fat

Tip: If this setting was off, you need to edit a food from each previous day of the challenge to force a sync.

Enable Lose It! to Read/Write Foods to Google Fit (Android Devices)

You must track your meals in Lose It!. For Lose It! to send data to Challenges, you have to enable the app to Read/Write Food & Nutrients to Google Fit within the Lose It! app and within Google Fit directly.

Enable this setting by:

  1. Open Lose It! app
  2. Tap Profile icon (top-right corner)
  3. Under Automatic Tracking, select Google Fit
  4. Scroll down to other settings
  5. Toggle ON "Read/Write Food & Nutrients"
  6. If already toggled ON, select the three vertical dots in the top right corner of the screen.
  7. Select 'Force Sync'

Missing Meal Logging Points

Open the Lose It! app and check your food Log screen. Ensure that all meals logged are at least 150 calories.

A meal must have 150 calories or more to qualify.

Also, note that the meal logging circles do not represent specific meals. You receive a check for each meal you've logged 150 calories for, but in no particular order. So, if you have two checked circles for two meals logged and are missing the third, that doesn't necessarily mean you're not earning points for dinner. It could be any of your meals.

Missing Fruit and Vegetable Points

Open the Lose It! app and check your Log screen to review the fruits and vegetables you have logged for the day.

  1. If your points look correct for some days, but it looks like you're missing points for other days, you may need to edit a food from each previous day of the challenge to force a sync between Lose It! and Challenges.

To edit a food, just tap into a food and then tap save. Do this for the days you have not received points to try to force a sync. You can also try re-logging the food for that day.

  2. Make sure the food items you've logged do not have N/A listed for any of the nutrients. Foods that do not have complete nutritional content in Lose It! (i.e fat, sugar, or any other nutrients are listed as N/A) no longer earn fruit or vegetable points - we suggest logging verified foods.
  3. If the foods you're logging have complete nutritional information, ensure that all fruits and vegetables that you have logged meet the following requirements:
      • A fruit serving is defined as 60 calories
      • A vegetable serving is defined as 10 calories
      • The icon associated with the food item must be a fruit or a vegetable
      • The name associated with the food item must be a fruit or a vegetable
      • Items with more than 30% of calories coming from fat do not count
      • Starchy vegetables like corn, hominy, peas, potatoes of all kinds, and yams will not count towards vegetable points
      • Juices do not count towards fruit or vegetable points.
      • If your fruit/veggie is part of a food with many components (i.e. smoothie, salad, or soup) then you will get the most points by logging each item individually (more info on this here)
      • Foods with high sugar content (> 1.5g sugar for every 10 cals) no longer earn vegetable points (fruits are not affected by this high sugar rule)
      • Note: foods that fail any of the above criteria will still count towards your meals points, they just won’t accrue fruit/veggie points

Missing Activity Points (iOS Devices)
